March 11, 2024 - The Union Labor Life Insurance Company has been impacted by the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident on February 21, 2024. Change Healthcare, a unit of United Health group, provides claims payment processing services to third-party administrators of Union Labor Life.

The third-party administrators that were impacted by this event handle policy and claims administration of life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, hospital indemnity, hospital accident, critical illness, long term care, home healthcare and Medicare supplement policies. The third-party administrators, however, outsource the printing and mailing of claims payments to Change Healthcare. As a result of the cybersecurity incident, Change Healthcare has not been able to print and mail claim checks to Union Labor Life’s claimants since the incident occurred.

At this time, Union Labor Life is working with its administrators to identify the claims payments that have been impacted. The company and its third-party administrators are working towards a solution to print and mail claims payments to affected claimants as soon as possible.

Union Labor Life does not currently have any information indicating that insureds’ or claimants’ personally identifiable information has been compromised by this cybersecurity incident. The company will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
